Most of our native-speaking editors have advanced degrees (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, MEng, MSc, and MA) or professional licenses and are published authors themselves. Proofreading
- Your native proofreader will correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors and reword phrases that are unclear.
- Your proofreader will not remove redundancies, take extra steps to improve the overall readability of the manuscript, or comment on the text unless absolutely necessary—these improvements are made as part of our Comprehensive Editing service.
- You have the opportunity to clarify specific editorial changes with your proofreader during a free proof check before submission.
Recommended for authors who are largely proficient in writing up their research in English and require the text to be "grammar-checked" only.

EditingPLUS
- Your specialist native editor will (1) comprehensively edit your manuscript (abstract or paper) PLUS (2) annotate the text while editing to highlight how you could improve specific aspects of your writing (e.g., structure, grammar, style, vocabulary, and adherence to writing conventions and publication practices in your field). (3) You then have the chance to ask your editor questions.
- Comprehensive Editing: Your editor will improve correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors, upgrade vocabulary, fix awkward phrases, remove redundancies, and improve the overall readability and logical flow of the manuscript as necessary. If your editor has any comments or questions relating to specific text, these will be inserted directly into the manuscript for you to address before submission.
- Annotation: While editing your paper, your editor will also explain selected revisions to your abstract or paper and offer guidance for you to write more effectively.
- Q&A: During a free proof check, you can ask your editor to explain certain editorial changes that were made and to answer any questions you have about specific aspects of your writing on the submission or publication process.
- Choose between two levels of EditingPLUS service: Mini Report and Full Report.
Recommended for authors who are interested in improving their English writing skills.
Our EditingPLUS service can be helpful because it’s not always easy to learn how to improve your writing skills. General English classes will not cover the unique aspects of writing in your specialized field, and most textbooks on scientific, medical, technical, or academic writing explain how best to structure papers and some of the writing conventions to follow but do not provide specific grammar instruction.
Full paper: Your native editor will point out 5 aspects of your writing that you can immediately focus on to improve your writing. You then have the chance to ask your editor up to 5 questions about the edited text or about the submission, review, and publication process.
Abstract: Your native editor will point out 3 aspects and you can ask up to 3 questions.
