A new integrity hub is bringing together online tools to help publishers detect violations of publication ethics such as manuscripts from paper mills and duplicate submissions
In the continuing fight against fake science entering the scientific literature, the International Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers (STM) is currently developing the STM Integrity Hub, which will offer automated tools to help publishers detect potential violations of publication ethics in submitted manuscripts. As outlined in a recent news article in Nature, the capability of these tools to detect image manipulation, duplicate submissions, and manuscripts created by paper mills is being evaluated.
