Elsevier launches a new browser-based search tool for calls for papers in special issues
Publishing a paper in a special issue of a journal can help boost citations to your paper up to 10% more than for those published in regular issues in journals in the first 2 years after publication, according to an analysis of data from Scopus and ScienceDirect by Elsevier.
If you’re worried about missing potential opportunities to publish in special issues, then you might want to try searching a database of all current calls for papers for special issues in Elsevier journals.
As of this writing (Jan 31, 2023), Elsevier’s new browser-based search tool shows a total of 2493 calls for papers in special issues.
To narrow down the search to current calls for papers for special issues in your specialist research field, search by first selecting a research “Domain” and then the closest “Subdomain” to your field.
For example, in the domain of chemical engineering and subdomain of colloid and surface chemistry, there are currently 11 calls for papers listing the titles of the special issues, guest editors, submission deadlines, journal names, and current impact factor and CiteScore.
