English Editing

Level 1: Comprehensive Editing

Receive a high quality manuscript that has been edited by a specialist native-English speaking editor familiar with your field. Our editors have advanced degrees (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, and MPH) or professional licenses, most are published authors, many have served as reviewers, and all are excellent writers.

Subject specialists: Your native-English speaking editor will correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors, upgrade vocabulary, correct unclear or awkward phrases, remove redundancies, and improve the overall readability and logical flow of the manuscript as necessary.

Accurate edits: If a specific phrase in the source text is ambiguous, your editor will place a comment or question about the ambiguity directly in the manuscript for you to address. Whenever possible, your editor will provide alternative phrasing to guide you in changing the wording.

Free proof checks: You may clarify the meaning of specific aspects of the edited text with your editor and have any further changes you make to the wording checked before submission.

Support throughout the publication process: your editor can support you at any, or all, stages of manuscript preparation, submission, revision (revised paper and response letter to the reviewers), and publication (page proofs).

Level 2: English Proofreading

This service is recommended for authors who are largely proficient in writing up their research in English and require the text to be "grammar-checked" only.

Subject-specialist proofreaders: Your native-English speaking proofreader will correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors and reword phrases that are unclear.
(Your proofreader will not remove redundancies, take extra steps to improve the overall readability of the manuscript, or comment on the text unless absolutely necessary—these improvements are made as part of our Comprehensive Editing service.)

Free proof check: You have the opportunity to clarify specific editorial changes with your proofreader during a free proof check before submission.

Translation

Your translated manuscripts must be accurate and highly readable, with the right ‘look and feel’ for readers in your specialist field. Our carefully selected medical translation teams, composed of specialist translators and native-speaking editors, will ensure your manuscripts meet these criteria.

Subject specialists: Our medical translators and native-speaker editors work in French, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and other languages. They have advanced degrees (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, and MPH) or professional licenses and all are excellent writers. This ensures that everyone who reads your work focuses on the importance of your message.

Accurate translations: If a specific phrase in the source text is ambiguous, your team will place a comment or question relating to their translation directly in the manuscript for you to check carefully. Your translated manuscript and accompanying documents (e.g., figures, tables, supplementary information, and cover letter) will be edited for logical flow, clarity, conciseness, and consistency.

Free proof checks: You can clarify the meaning of specific aspects of the translated text with your translation team and have any revisions you make to the translation checked before submission.

Support throughout the publication process: Your team can support you at any, or all, stages of manuscript preparation, submission, revision (revised paper and response letter to the reviewers), and publication (page proofs).
